Women in STEM: Advocacy Through Action

The statistics about women in STEM are well-documented and disheartening. Despite making up half the population, women remain significantly underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. But statistics alone don't create change—action does.

Beyond the Numbers

While it's important to acknowledge the disparities, I've learned that focusing solely on representation numbers can be discouraging. Instead, I focus on the incredible women who are already in STEM and the unique perspectives they bring to solving complex problems.

One of the most impactful ways to support women in STEM is through mentorship. As someone who has benefited from incredible mentors throughout my journey, I've seen firsthand how guidance, encouragement, and practical advice can make the difference between giving up and pushing through challenges.

Change cannot happen in isolation. Male allies play a crucial role in advancing women in STEM by using their platforms to amplify women's voices, challenging biased behaviors, and creating opportunities for women to lead and succeed.

Intersectionality Matters

As a woman from Nepal working in tech, I understand that the challenges faced by women in STEM are not uniform. Women of color, women from developing countries, and women from different socioeconomic backgrounds face unique barriers that require targeted support and understanding.

Technology as a Tool for Change
